Hi I just purchased a 77:50 skilsaw commemorative 50th anniversary edition type 16 wormdrive saw in the original box with instruction booklet and parts diagram with the original blade. Saw is very clean with very little use and works perfectly. Any idea on the worth of the saw? Thanks for any info

No thanks. I paid more for it than that. Everything on this saw is in e/c and everytime I search for info I keep getting the word rare. That’s why I’m hoping someone on here could shine some light on it’s worth thanks though

I guess it could be "rare", but that sure doesn't make it "valuable". It is a saw that is usable, if it had been never used with the box, then maybe there would be more value to it.

How do you know its an original blade? What to they sell for on ebay, see completed auctions. I don't really see tools as a collectors item.

A mass produced commemerative edition? Maybe a couple bucks more than a regular one?

List it on ebay, you'll figure out what its worth.

They made tens of thousands of those "rare" 50th anniversary saws. Just poking around on e-bay shows serial numbers ranging from 40,000-70,000+ like yours.

If your saw was new in box, never used, it might be worth $200-240. But that would be because it's a new, unused vintage worm drive Skil Saw that'd be valuable to someone doing a lot of framing. Not because it's "rare".

Your saw is not "very clean". It's covered in saw dust and has a ton of scuffs. That "original" blade shows plenty of wear. I hope you didn't pay more than $80-100 for it, because that's all it'd be worth at most.

Based on my experience, most commemorative tools are worth a negligible premium of their brethren.

They also tend to be "boat anchors". You don't want to use them because their commemorative yet they just take up valuable storage space.

It's neat but I don't think it adds any to the value over a similar Skil Saw from the year before or after. The people that are in the market for that type of saw care only how it works, the gold finish won't mean that much to them.

$100.

Mint condition, or a real case, would demand more. Feel free to post it below, though! There was a similar condition one in Southern IL w/ hard case for $50 online for the longest time (yes, anniversary edition).

I have one brand new. Never used it. I take it out of it's case every once in awhile to look at it. It's really pretty, I'd hate to get it dirty.

It’s covered in saw dust because I’m using it on the job. I’m only asking because when I goggled for info I kept seeing “rare”. I’m holding on to this thing because it’s a unreal saw. Just thought I’d get and idea if it was worth much. Only paid 30$ for it

Ya I’m not selling the saw I was just looking for info. Being a old saw or this edition doesn’t make it worth hundreds I know this. I was just seeing if it was worth anything. Iv been using it the past few weeks and find it to be a very good saw for its age. Worth the 30$ I paid for it

My take is it's an used saw and be happy you got it for $30. Use it or display it, but it's hardy an investment.

Sadly, the words "rare" don't really mean that much any more. The word "rare" is used as a search engine catch phrase now days.

Rare is finding an original paint '32 Ford roadster in mint condition sitting in someone's garage.

An "Anniversary Edition" saw made in the tens of thousands is not rare.

It sounds like it's value to you is more than you paid for the saw. In my book, you got a good deal. Enjoy the saw!

On that second pic of the label, I swiped the screen to get the dust off to read it better. Didn't work for some reason...

Anyhow, good saw. Use it.
