Rare vise!! craigslist

This has to be the same one that came up a couple months ago 2 blocks from my house for $20. Not sure this flip will be successful for this guy. But ya never know. Why would someone have gone to the trouble of making that? It has almost no capacity. This is the desert, so people gotta do what they gotta do, especially back in the day, but..........

Or they had allot of time, the tools, and no money. I have a friend that builds nonsensical **** all the time out of his scrap pile for the sake of having something to do. The only difference is he doesn't call it rare, vintage, antique, or collectable. Its still just junk to him.

I'm guessing purpose built, like a jig for something someone had to replicate. It would be in my estate sale for $20, but not $65

I almost bought it when it was up for $20 and right by my house, but i thought it was like 4 times bigger. I would have passed upon seeing it in person for sure.

Once upon a time a guy had no money but, even if it's not perfect, quite a skill in metal fabrication. He needed a vice, perhaps for a special purpose, and made it himself. I sure wouldn't buy it for 65, or even 20 $, but none the less honour to the guy who once built it.
