The owner told me that the college had a machine shop class & part of the deal was you got to cast, forge & machine your own vise.

That swivel is real similar to Prentiss. What a kick *** thing to have.

Yup, my first thought when I saw it was that it was a Prentiss, they I got close enough to read the side of it.

Looks like the vise is bolted to a carriage that clamps to the top rail of the trailer?

Wow, that sounds awesome! We never even discussed casting in the machinist class I took. Although it was only one semester, we were able to make some specialty tools.
