Hey it's my first post on this board and I read previous threads on ratchet grease and lube. I am a DIY type of person. My course ratchets which are just V series USA coarse ratchets, thin profile 84t craftsman 1/2 drive and an Armstrong 88t 3/8 drive. My question is I picked up marvel mystery oil for my 88t and 84t ratchet and I want to use a grease for my coarse ratchets. I decided on probably going with valvoline grease. But what one? The basic general purpose grease(yellow)? The multi purpose (red) or the moly fortified (charcoal) ? What would be a good choice?

Welcome to the site. 
Grab a tube of SuperLube at the hardware store or Harbor Freight.
I use it in all my ratchet rebuilds and even my 60yo Craftsmans are smooth like butter.

I think thicker stuff like Super Lube and Red Lube of Love (Permatex Ultra Slick Engine Assembly Lube) are the recommendations for lower tooth count ratchets, and a thin oil like air tool oil or sewing machine oil are better for high tooth count ratchets. I would like to try MMO in one of my ratchets at some point if for no other reason than it will smell great! I love the smell of MMO.
Thanks I heard about super lube and permatex but f you guys were going to use valvoline grease in my description what would be one that would be the best for ratchets? What type of grease from valvoline would be best for ratchets ? And is MMO fine for my higher tooth count ratchets? (75t and 84t)

I use Marvel and a teeny-tiny dab of white lithium grease (like "Lubriplate") on them.

For the coarse tooth Craftsman ratchets go with either Permatex 81950 or Permatex green synthetic brake caliper grease.
IMO quality of application is more important than brands. Volvoline? This Bud is for you

I would advise against using a moly grease. If it does run that black grease seems to get all over and tough to cleanup. I use on my tractor loader
I just did some old low tooth count Craftsman ratchets over I used a dab green water resistant wheel bearing grease. Same stuff I use on my motorcycle plus it was already in the gun there purrin like kitten now!
One thing I notice about using a grease like that is pretty much stay where you put it and doesn't dry out and cake up over time like the basic (usually amber color) stuff can do.
