Picked up this odd 3/8" today. Was a QR with the knurl disc on the back of the head (like I like). Has "Master Pro" and "USA" on it:

Wasn't ratcheting right, so took it apart to clean and lube. I discovered it is a sliding pawl design, like the FACOMs and TUFF 1's:

This is unusual to me, because I've never seen a sliding pawl ratchet with QR.
So, is this a genuine US made tool, and who made it?

I was thinking the same thing!
The quick-release, quick-clean C-man - correct?
But not having one of those C-mans, I couldn't disassemble it to compare.

I cant tell you for sure but I have a few master pro sockets and they look like the military Granco ones. I also know that O'Reilly Auto has several lines of auto parts under the Master Pro name. I do not know if they are related.

Craftsman round heads are sliding pawls and with quick release aren't they?

The Tri-Props Craftsman that are sliding pawl have the torx screw on the back for disassembly. That prevents a QR button.
My ratchet cannot be totally disassembled, as the QR button goes thru the gear body and is held in place by the detent ball and spring. Luckily, my example shows very little wear on the internals, and only needed minor cleaning and oiling to get working.

"Granco" as in Granco Industries in the Midwest?

I don't know where they are from. I do see them regularly, and haven't thought much about them. I see all kinds of "Surplus" military tools at the local pawn shops. With 5 military bases near me, we see them regularly.

It looks like the same deisgn used on the Craftsman quick-clean made by Stanley in Taiwan, but yours has a spiral clip to hold the core in. There are some pics on GG.

I was hoping you'd chime in, Tool Pants. Guess I'll be checking in over at GG.
Thanks!
