I prefer a ratchet + socket. It's more comfortable on my hand and I get more leverage with the longer handle. Flex head also helps in tighter areas where a regular wrench would be less useful.

Ratchets/sockets first, if no clearance than wrench or ratcheting wrench.

Same here. I can get leverage if I need to, but as long as I have clearance, I can usually go faster with a ratchet/socket.

Ratchet/socket first. Currently only have SAE ratcheting wrenches up to 3/4". (3/8-3/4, Craftsman Industrial USA made with roll pouch.. think I paid $29.99 shipped brand new for them..)

Grade 8 fasteners are not very friendly to wrenches. lol. I'd rather use a stronger socket than a wrench that breaks.
