Hey all, back in December while crawling through the Denver Surplus Tools facility, I found a couple of 1/2" drive studs for some ratchets rebuild kit. They were very inexpensive, so I grabbed two. Now I'm trying to figure out who may be able to use them, because its not me. None of my ratchets have this kind of innards.

1/2" drive, 30 tooth, hole in the back side. 0.745 outside diameter of the pawl teeth. 0.665 through the round part. 1.175 overall length

IF you recognize where it goes, I'd be appreciative. IF you can use it, even better.

Of the many hundreds of USA ratchets I've pulled apart to cleanup and refresh, i cannot recall ever seeing a drive gear diameter-to-stud size ratio that small (or hollow). Will have to ponder a little more, but that one is a complete mystery...

I wonder if it was pressed into a handle and the "gear" cut in to the bore to assure a no slip drive?

Those are from a Proto indexing breaker bar.

The hole in the back of the gear is for a spring, and they are held in with a circlip. I had one apart once for cleaning. Basically, you press down and the gears disengage, allowing you to reposition the head, kinda like a Snap-on #6.

Wow, talk about luck. (y)You could be the only guy on GJ to ever see that tool apart. I've only seen them for sale online. I was leaning towards a ratcheting adapter and I guess technically it is.
