Gentlemen,
I’m in the market for a couple ratchets. They are items I want but don’t need, so I’m trying to stay away from truck brands unless I can find used ultra-cheap.

List of requirements looks like this:
Extra long(15”-18” 3/8, and 18”-24” 1/2)
Locking flex
Pear head
Comfort grip (hard grip like SO’s would be even better)
High tooth count (like 80 or above)
Quick release earns bomus points, but isn’t a deal breaker.

What am I missing besides truck brands and Carlyle from Napa? HF makes a model in each drive that checks MOST of the boxes, but not all.

Yup GW. They do a locking flex head 24" in 1/2". I think if your using a ratchet with such long handles, a fine tooth is important with many teeth engaged for strength. The dual pawl 120xp does that well.

I think Carlyle and Gearwrench are the only good options that I'm aware of, tho I don't know where else you can find hard handle quality ratchets that aren't snap on. If someones got a link to those that I'm somehow in the dark on, sign me up!

Looks like Gearwrench has a 1/2 ratchet that fits your criteria, Not comfort handle though. Still pretty reasonable price wise.

Most of the extra long locking flex ratchets seem to be mainly a truck brand thing, though Gearwrench adds a few new ratchets every so often. Ebay may be an option for truck brands.

That has never stopped me from buying the superior Snap-on tool. :)

I have a 1/2 long flex GW 120xp and a straight R12LQR Carlyle. The Carlyle is quick release. The GW longer at 17" long and the Carlyle is 15. The Carlyle is either 48 or 50 teeth but the head is much thinner all the way around. I will grab a picture off my phone later since I made a comparison once. I prefer the Carlyle over the GW because I like a straight ratchet better and the profile is much thinner. If I'm being honest though, my S-K Wayne 40170 with the DT100 mechanism is my first choice but it's a roundhead ratchet..
