Ratchet springs for CDI torque wrench?

My brother bought a "new" CDI 752MFRMH (5 to 75 ft-lb, 3/8" drive) torque wrench that is missing the two conical compression springs (PN 46-69-3) that push against the left and right dogs of the ratchet body assembly (PN 46-500-12). CDI customer service said they don't sell parts and referred me to their associate, Team Torque. Team Torque said the springs are no longer available separately and that I have to buy the whole ratchet body assembly. The ratchet body assembly is reasonably priced at less than $9 but there is a $50 minimum on parts or a $10 surcharge. That makes the two little springs about $30 including shipping. Ouch!

The ratchet body will accommodate conical compression springs with a large end OD of up 0.325" and a compressed length of 0.116" or less. The other characteristics of the spring are unknown to me. The usual hardware stores like McMaster-Carr and Grainger don't have springs with this small an OD.

There is a photo of a very similar ratchet mechanism in the #19 post on the "new professional grade harbor freight ratchets" thread.

Anyone have a suggestion?

Note 1: Sending it back to the seller is not an option.
Note 2: It is frustrating that CDI won't even sell me a pair of used springs. I live within 30 min of their service center.

Just to wrap up this old thread . . .

I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy a ratchet assembly or the slightly less expensive overhaul kit just to get the two little springs I needed. Via Team Torque it would cost me a little less than $30 for parts, surcharge (for not buying enough), handling charge, and shipping.

Luckily I first called the other official CDI warranty station in the US, Angle Repair. They offered to mail me the two springs for free! I now have a working torque wrench.

Guess where I'll send my future business. :)
