Looks like a New Britain style.Usually a snap ring on the drive side.
There is a spiral clip along the edge. Use a small screwwdriver or dental tool to remove it at the end. There is a detent at the end of the clip. Pull it away from the ratchet edge and lift at the same time. Then take the blade and push it around the spiral clip until it comes out completely. Installation is the reverse of removal. Pretty simple actually.
Thanks guys !
Cruiser, that helped alot. The ring reminds me of a split keyring except that it's flat. I got it apart for a clean & lube.

when cruiser chimes in he knows what he is talking about. his knowledge is vast until he gets to compact blackhawk ratchets. then he gets confused.![]()

That's a disposable throw away ratchet.
Why do you say that? It looks like a newer model, but if it is anything like the vintage USA Husky ratchets, then it is definitely not throwaway. Those old rats are nice.
+1 on that, Bull.![]()
Thanks for the support!
Can you tell from the pic what vintage Snappy's is? Is it still US made?
little hard to see, but in the 1st pic---patd. U.S.A.
now to get it back together.
that is the fun part if you do not have the right tools......
need help let me know.

Yeah, but I am wondering if that is a deception? In other words, the patent might be in the USA, but that does not say where the ratchet is being MADE. Because, at some point Husky went overseas....
