That's a disposable throw away ratchet.

Looks like a New Britain style.Usually a snap ring on the drive side.

There is a spiral clip along the edge. Use a small screwwdriver or dental tool to remove it at the end. There is a detent at the end of the clip. Pull it away from the ratchet edge and lift at the same time. Then take the blade and push it around the spiral clip until it comes out completely. Installation is the reverse of removal. Pretty simple actually.

Caper, you're absolutely correct about the NB style. That Husky has the 60-tooth gear which uses the spiral cllip. The 45-tooth versions use the snap rings. Hope that helps.

Cruiser,that helped alot. The ring reminds me of a split keyring except that it's flat. I got it apart for a clean & lube.

when cruiser chimes in he knows what he is talking about. his knowledge is vast until he gets to compact blackhawk ratchets. then he gets confused.
Why do you say that? It looks like a newer model, but if it is anything like the vintage USA Husky ratchets, then it is definitely not throwaway. Those old rats are nice.

Yeah, but I am wondering if that is a deception? In other words, the patent might be in the USA, but that does not say where the ratchet is being MADE. Because, at some point Husky went overseas....
Are there special tools for that little curlicue spring that holds the guts in? I always just use either a couple small screwdrivers or or a pick. It is a kind of a pain in the ****, though.
Maybe simple for cruiser but I found it a little challenging to get that spiral back on. I did get it though. A small screwdriver & determination got it done.

Guys, the Husky in the pic is USA made by New Britain Machine Co. from the 70's to mid eighty's. I can get the patent # later if anyone wants. That Husky is a dead ringer for the NB-46 model of that era. The NB made ratchets are nice pieces.
Later, when Stanley took over the Husky name, they changed the design in favor of a Taiwan import. The import Blackhawk's, Challenger's and Craftsman ratchets in the late eighties shared the gear heads and basic design. They are the ones that most of the guy's here on GJ are not too fond of.

when I have to fix them I use the Snap ON mini pick that has the 45 degree end on it. I use the flat part of the tip and with the ring seperated I use the flat end to push it into the groove and walk it all the way around using the flat part of the pic.... Took a while to get used to it though.
