I know that 24, 36, and 72 are the most common tooth counts for ratchets with 80, 90, and 100 becoming more common but when exactly was the time period when the jumps from 24 to 36 and 36 to 72 happened?
I ask this because I have a ratcheting wrench with only 18 teeth.
Gearless: 1950s (was the Blackhawk Free Wheeling ratchet the first?)
80-tooth: 2000s
90/100-tooth: 2010s
