heating cast iron what's that going to take about an hours worth of torch holding just for it to start glowing?
You're not heating cast iron. It's the plug you should be heating. 90 seconds of oxy-acetylene.

Maybe less with a new-fangled inductive heating system.

Wow. Take it to an exhaust shop, let them torch it. This is not a huge problem. They don't even have to REMOVE it...just heat it and let it cool. You can screw it out when you get home.

Years ago, before I owned a torch, I'd bring a twelve-pack of brew about twenty minutes before closing time.
