You're not heating cast iron. It's the plug you should be heating. 90 seconds of oxy-acetylene.heating cast iron what's that going to take about an hours worth of torch holding just for it to start glowing?
Maybe less with a new-fangled inductive heating system.
Wow. Take it to an exhaust shop, let them torch it. This is not a huge problem. They don't even have to REMOVE it...just heat it and let it cool. You can screw it out when you get home.
Years ago, before I owned a torch, I'd bring a twelve-pack of brew about twenty minutes before closing time.
