So what are these, just lower tooth count ratcheting mechanisms on breaker bars that also have a direct drive no-ratchet setting? Who uses them regularly and for what?

Wouldn't a ratcheting breaker bar just be a ratchet?
I have Snap On ratchet adapters in 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 that I attach to breaker bars, not sure if they're any stronger than a regular ratchet, but I like the extra leverage, especially with lug nuts.
Yes, it's a more basic ratchet, with non-ratchet setting and a 180 flex. The key difference is: no ratcheting direction lever, and taller than a ratchet (thus requires more clearance). Think of it as a breaker bar + ratchet adapter. So what are these, just lower tooth count ratcheting mechanisms on breaker bars that also have a direct drive no-ratchet setting?
