this is for any of you veteran techs out there... I am going to purchase my first set of snappy combination ratcheting wrenches and i have some questions. Should i get the 15 degree off set or the zero degree offsets? and should i get the open end with the flank drine plus or the regular smooth open end? My current sets of combination wrenches don't have the flank drive on the open end and was woundering if i should get the ratcheting combos withthe flank drive open end? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It depends if you want the reversible type or not. The zero offsets aren't reversible and don't come with the flank drive plus open end. As for the flank drive plus open end, do you do front end work? If so, you may find the feature handy for those tight nuts where a box end can't go.

15 deg offset is far more useful, IMO. I have SAE and Metric Snap-on ratcheting wrenches with the Flank Drive Plus and all that. Much nicer than the Blue-points I traded in, mostly because they're longer....

I have the Matco Pro-swing wrenches, the one with the 0 deg. ratcheting end and 15 deg. offset non ratcheting box end on the other side, for when I might need 0 deg.

I would get the SOEXR and SOEXRM ratcheting wrenches. These are the ones with that are reversible, with the offset and flank drive plus.

I would get the 15* offset wrenches. I think they are easier for when you need to reverse. I also have the Matco Pro Swings for when I need a zero offset.

Thanks. i'm going to get the 15 degree snap on FDP. I can only get one set for now, and wanted to get a grasp of what would be more useful initially. thanks for the info

Good pick! Since you don't have any FDP open end it is a smart move to get the ones that will expand your set the most... with these you gain both ratcheting and FDP! You will be really happy with the ratcheting box end, they save so much time! Also, look into a set with a flex box end as well... since you already have both open ends covered, FDP and non-FDP, I would recommend a set of flex double box end ratcheting, since it will cut the number you need to buy in half.

Or from your preferred manufacturer.
