Can anyone identify who makes this type of ratcheting wire crimper? The wheel is to adjust the crimp.

The image you posted is a M22520/1-01.
Daniels Manufacturing Corporation sells theirs as an AF8 Standard Adjustable Crimp Tool. They require specific "turrets" that are made for various connector series.

The turrets under the specification are numbered M22520/1-**. I know there are numbers 01 through 17. The Daniels version are also numbered with a THxx part number.

Other OEM manufacturers would be Astro Tool and Balmar. Daniels Manufacturing Corp. is the OEM for many of the connector companies like Deutsch, Amphenol, and VEAM.

The dial on the tool control the depth of the impression of the indentors. The turret controls the positioning of the contact.

Mine came from a pawn shop. I waited a year to buy it at a reasonable price. It had a hundred male and female terminals with it too, and for only $30.

Wow! That's a deal. I'd buy that all day long.

I thought Deutsche connectors used open barrel style terminals, couldn't you just use a normal open barrel crimper?
