I'm looking for a decent quality ratcheting tap wrench that will accomodate 5/16" taps. I used to use General brand wrenches when they were made in the USA, but understand that the quality has gone down since they started importing them.

What are decent brands/models these days?

A few years ago, based on reviews/recommendations from this forum, I picked up a Schroder RS40064 ratchet tap wrench, it seems well made. Has a small hole in the end for a centering jig allowing the use of a drill press to align the tap when starting. They have a few different sizes including the RS40074 which may be applicable to your tap - make sure you are taking into account the size of the square on the end of the tap when selecting the right one.
