Mine is not all that big. It will be shrinking very soon. God I hate those things, never met one that didnt piss me off. (Tried bluepoint, snapon, gearwrench, and matco.)

I have the Matco /Armstrong ones with one ratcheting box end and the other a regular box end. I like them because I can use the reg end to break the bolt loose and the ratcheting end to remove it.

I've been wanting to start a ratcheting wrench collection. As of right now I only have 1 old craftsman...and its a crappy double box with such huge ends that it hardly fits on anything.

I want a set of Armstrong, since they are the only ratcheting wrenches made in the USA.

I took one wrench from each set to take the picture.
From left to right:
SK, extra long, flex head, reversible, deep.
Blackhawk locking flex head, non reversible.
Stanley reversible, offset head.
SK short length, SPLINE, flex head, non reversible.
Husky robowrench, open end "ratcheting"
Alden open end "ratcheting"
Gearwrench s-shape reversible.

Most are double ended to limit duplicates.

How do you like the Alden?? I remember when they first came out, they looked handy, but I never bought any. IIRC, the founder/inventor died and they weren't produced for some time. I think someone has bought the rights from his estate and they're being produced again.

I could really use a 7/16 ratcheting, open-ended wrench and was thinking about seeking an Alden to try.

I notice no one has talked about owning Gearwrench X beams yet.

I've got a set... they ****. Every time I get them out, the giant open end runs into something and I end up cursing and throwing that wrench. I think I've used them on one job in the past year and had good success. Of course... YMMV.

It strikes me this is why most of my long ratchets are flex-heads...

Recently, I thinned out the herd a bit and sold off a couple sets (16) of the older ratcheting Crafty RPs and also the 20pc GW non-reversing combos so that leaves:

12 GW Gearbox XL MM
9 GW Gearbox XL SAE
8 GW Stubby combo MM
8 GW Stubby combo SAE
12 Craftsman USA reversible combos MM
8 Craftsman USA reversible combos SAE

My ratchets see less use now that I have settled and sorted these in my box on racks. I've never owned a ratcheting flex wrench as I found that I automatically would reach for a flex/roto ratchet when I need something like that.

Not sure what all the bad feedback is about with these ratcheting wrenches, for me these things are awfully nice to have and use. The non-ratcheting crafty RP combo wrenches I used to keep are now in the basement shop. They are the only non-ratcheting wrenches I own anymore.

I had to go out and count. I have 85 box end and 8 open total. Mostly Gearwrench. Stubby, flexheads and reversible included.

Ok...I counted the metric side of the house. I have 36 wratchcheting wrenches. different styles, full polish wrenches with tiny teeth on the wrench side, offset course teeth on both ends, simply course teeth on each end and the ones with a small lever. All are nice and made in USA.

Best luck out there. Always looking for upgrades.
