To clarify, mine are the double ended ratcheting wrench's.
Sets by: Snap-On, Cornwell, MAC and SK. I have them all in a cardboard box, lol
I know they come flat, but too much realestate is used.

Are you talking about the newer Gear wrench type, or these:

Outlaw, those:)
I tried them in metal clip type and no way, won't even start. There has to be something that they will clip in so's not to dance around.

MtnDew, I dislike them stick on rails, Thanks though.

Look at a place like Office Max or Staples in the stationary aisle. They usually have those coil springs that you shove letters and such into. Maybe thay woyld work. Or do like some do with pliers and take a piece of wire shelving, cut it and form it to your needs.

OK, I have mine like that stacked and against a stack of 1 X 2 X 5/16 conveyor magnets to keep the stack from sliding around. works well.

A wire CD rack cut down into a "pliers rack" as mentioned would also do the trick but the CD rack is sort of tall, so maybe another wire gizmo.

The spring idea would work but I'd just hit up my local ACE Hardware; possibly the big box Home improvement store might have a suitable spring with wide enough spacing...

In a pinch, I;ve used one of these before from Sears:

http://www.craftsman.com/craftsman-wrench-holder/p-00965272000P

I cut the handle off on the bandsaw and then grind the nubs to flush with the back.

Since it's a semi-flixible plastic, you can take tin snips or shears and modify the fins that hold the wrenchs in place if you need to fit a bulkier width wrench in each or any of the slots.

For $7 and stocked in every store it was a convenient solution.

Outlaw, Sam thanks yall for helping. Maybe I need to update to the newer wrench's? Then they would go in about any mag wrench holder I guess? If I sold my sets it may not be enough money as what would they be worth nowadays?

I keep my set like those in a section of one of my drawers. All my other wrenches are in racks.
If you want a rack make them out of wood. You can make any slant any distance apart and you can make them the right width to fit the wrench. You can take a round over bit and round the edges on both sides with a router or just break them with a sanding block.

You can cut them on a band saw and clean them up or make a pattern out of tempored masonite and then use that as a templet and use a rounter table with a streight bit and berring guide. I have have the reversable gear wrenches with a 15 degree sland and streight a flat set that you just flip over. I have had the old type in my box for 40 years and have yet to use them. LOL I think I have only used them twice and that was over 25 years ago. I do use my gear wrenches.

Just a side note for you guys...

I use rails like these. I have my rails running long ways in the drawer of my tool cart. It seemed to work out better and leave room in front for other things. I have it set up 27-7mm regular wrenches, then 19-8mm ratcheting wrenches, and finally 21-9mm double end line wrenches. (2 different sizes per end; 6 wrenches). For a total of 39 wrenches running side to side.

I have Blue Point ratcheting wrenches in my tool cart. Only problem is with the ratcheting mechanism being heavier than the open end, opening and closing the drawer a few times causes them to slide back and off the rails.

Just an FYI if you set your drawer and wrench rails up like I did. Regular wrenches stay put and if I had done them from from to back it probably wouldn't have been an issue, but side to side, the uneven weight of the wrench will cause them to fall out of the holder on the ratcheting end.
