Looking at a couple of Snap On metric wrench sets. (homeowner enthusiasts use)

SOEXRM710 - These are the ratcheting combination wrench, open end on one side with a box end ratcheting with reverse on the other .

XDLRM705K2 - These are the extra long hi performance double box end wrenches, one end has a regular box end with the opposite side having the ratcheting box end (non reversing & 0 degree offset).

I think I'd like the extra length of the double box ratcheting wrenches, but I also think I'd prefer the 15 degree offset that the combination ratcheting wrench set would offer.
Not sure I'd like the 0 degree offset, seems it would be difficult to get "knuckle clearance" room with no offset.

These will be used asa set that I will carry in my pickup truck in a canvas wrench roll.

Stay away from the SOEXRM710, and go with the SOXRRM710 instead. The head is thinner, smaller, stronger it's a true 80 teeth, and completely redesigned. It's also the same price. If the older set falls in your lap for $100, go that route instead.

I own two sets of the SOXRRM710, from 8-19mm, and the full set of the zero offset in the same. XDLRM705K2 is only half the set. They're much more expensive than the SOXRRM set.

You might be interested in the flexing double box end wrenches (XFRM705) instead of the zero offset if you're looking for just one set.

Personally, I love all of them. If I didn't have the SOX sets, and the zero offset I would probably pick up the flex, but it doesn't really serve a purpose for me. The reversible wrenches are a major plus, but the extra long zero offsets are very, very long. The flex version is longer still.
Agreed. I’ve got the SOXRRM710 in the exact same sizes (8-19mm) and couldn’t recommend them more. They’re the perfect length for most wrenching, and got the non-ratcheting XDHFM606 set for when I need extra length or leverage. I don’t think I’d find much use for swinging around a ratcheting wrench of that length...

I wouldnt waste the money on Snap-on long double box versions. They do nothing better than the Gearwrench or Kabo variants that Snap-on has attempted to copy. If you're going to pay the insane premium there should be at least some marginal benefit.

I have both and I have to say both are good for different situations. The flank drive plus open ends really bite in well especially on rounded corroded fasteners. I really like the reversible ratcheting box ends. Den of tools did a test on the box end and they were very impressive.

The length of the long box end wrenches really make jobs easier. The leverage makes breaking bolts free almost too easy. The ratcheting end on the other side helps to run the things off after it is broken loose, with just a flip of the wrench. The zero degree offset is helpful in tight spaces where the 15 degree offset would get in the way.

They are both good for different situations.

I see the Snap-on SOXRRM710A set (10-19MM) FD+ reversible ratcheting combination and they look great on the website. Do you tend to use these more than your regular SO FD combination wrench set or it depends on the job? May be overkill for DIYer.

The ratcheting reversibles are my first grab wrench. Having said that, sometimes you need a fixed boxed head. I’d say I use the ratcheting reversibles 70% of the time I need a wrench.

Reversible with the 15° offset replaced my flex head Ratcheting. My 0° see little use comparatively.

You won't be disappointed, they're badass.

Hello all. I know that this post is somewhat old and I’m not sure if anyone is keeping up with it but I’d appreciate your input.

I am in the market for the snap on reversible ratchet wrenches with the 15 degree offset on the box end. I searched the Snap on website and there are two “different” part numbers that I am looking at. One is soxrrm710 for $539.80 and the second set is soxrrm710a for $535.

My question is the following, what is the difference between the sets?
I checked the webpage for both numbers and the information for both is identical. So, if they are identical, what does the ‘a’ designation mean or represent? I’m a road tech. We don’t have a snap on dealer that stops by our shop. I figured this would be the best place to get an answer as I couldn’t get on from google. Thanks

The “A” versions now have a rivet on the back plate that the screws thread into, instead of the old versions that threaded into the back plate itself:
