I picked up the Icon flex XL ratchet wrenah set last year on 25% off. I work on my and my family’s Toyotas so I traded away the 13-15 and 16-18 to a friend as part of a deal for some 10,12 and 14 snap on ratcheting wrench's.

I am interested in learning more about ratcheting wrench socket adapters that can work with my wrenches. Amazon knows I’m a tool addict and recommended these vim tools adapters WSA100 model

they are wobble and seem like they could be real handy for weird access

so I looked more and found these from gear wrench in non wobble

I like that the gear wrench has the knurling knob. But I don’t have 13mm anymore. The vim set is 10mm 14mm 19mm which is perfect

so my quesrion is how useful are these in general or are they just a gimmick? Do I need both wobble and straight or is one more useful?

Does anyone make a straight 14mm to 3/8 drive adapter? Does anyone make a 14mm to 3/8 wobble set like vim but with the knurling? Is the knurling a gimmick?

Can't help on a 14 to 3/8 drive adapter, I posted recently asking for help for a 10mm to 1/4 hex bit and that thread has some options to consider.

Also I've heard that not all wrenches will work these kind of adapters. There's something about a retaining mechanism that would be necessary for the ratcheting wrench to stick one of these adapters inside, otherwise it would just fall out. Never used one, just what I read.

Don't buy the type such as the Gear Wrench above that have an O Ring for retention in the wrench. The types with the ball retention are much better.

Heck, I feel exactly the opposite. Never have had any issues with my O-ring adaptors, and if they ever break or fail to hold a socket I can replace them. Can't do that with ball retention.

To each his own I guess.

Seems TO ME that the o-ring type would be more universal, but if one's ratcheting wrench had an indentation for the ball to seat (I think I've seen them before), it would work better. My Gearwrench ratcheting wrenches have no indentation to capture a ball, so a ball retention setup would just slip out.

I don't know of any of these adapters that will work with Kabo style ratcheting wrenches. They're too long with the offset.
