Hey everyone,

I'm in the market for some new wrenches, I am from New Zealand (so really hard not to say spanners) and am looking to take advantage of the strong dollar, as this can save me about 40% off local price.

I've been manly looking at gear wrenches as what I am after is a locking flex box end, open end ratchet, although I may be convinced out of that if you guys reckon they aren't worth it, I've just come across occasions I thought they would be useful. Also since I've been looking at gear wrenches the X-Beam wrenches and would love to get some of them.

I know I'm not going to get all these in one set so I will have to buy at least a couple of sets. The problem I am having is finding somewhere good to buy these online that will ship overseas that has them all in stock, as I don't want to pay multiple shipping.

Also just seeking any general advise/hints you can give me about possible other brands etc.
I've probably forgotten to write something since it is 1am here at the moment, so I'll probably ask more later.

Thanks

I shipped a small box that weighed about 10 pounds from USA to England, and it cost 45 bucks to ship. Yikes! Maybe if you order online, it wont be as bad.

$45 isn't that bad, considering I'll still save around $200 USD especially since im buying more than 1 set

Anyone got any recommendations?

For what it's worth, many of us are huge Gearwrench fans. I myself am a fan of their ratcheting wrenches and X-Beam wrenches. I haven't tried their locking flex wrenches, but I have their reversible ones and a set of the flex ones as well.

HI defy, good to see another Kiwi on the board! Gearwrench are meant to be good, buy you may be pleasantly surprised when looking at other makes available to the states, makes like Williams and Armstrong apparently offer some very good quality spanners, and the prices are also pretty good.

As for shipping, there are services that you can use like Shipito.com that you can send the stuff too, they sort the packaging send it to you in one bundle. Can work out cheaper...

Only thing I would say (assuming you haven't done this before, which as a Kiwi I doubt! lol) is to watch the total cost of goods and shipping - if it's over $400NZ, you may get pinged for GST by customs.

Happy hunting!
