Just wondering if any of you guys got any input on these Masterforce ratchets from Menards. Thanks

They will accept a socket and you can use them to remove fasteners. Are they nice? In my opinion, not really. Coarse tooth (36 I believe), prone to reverse (as with the craftsman raised panel ratchets), and lots of slop. There are so many very nice ratchets available on the used market for a low cost. If you use ratchets once per year... then fine, but there are likely better options at whatever price you can get those for.

Oh... and welcome!

You'll likely be given lots of feedback on any ratchet question here ;-)

So.... more often than not they'll get job done.... and not cost the equal to several tanks of gasoline?
Works for me as long as they're as smooth/solid as my old CMs.

As the song goes - what's nice got to do with it?

I have a 3/8 KD and a 1/2 Husky that look just like those. As mentioned before, the selector knob gets a little sloppy as they ratchet. I never use them.

I'd rate them as average. Not professional. I think the chrome finish is better on them than craftsman raised panel, and I prefer a knurled handle which helps not to slip. Metal selector over plastic selector on some craftsman is a plus too. Menards used to sell them as Allen brand too.

Thanks guys for the input much appreciated. So on a scale of
Junk ---Average--- or--Professional where do you think these fall. Also would you say their above craftsman raise panels. Thanks again

I would rate them maybe a 5.

(GJ sarcasm starts here)
Since you are new I will save you from wasting money and having to resell these in the near future.... Just get some Snap-on ratchets now and get it over with. It will only cost you a $306.95 plus tax to get the dual80 chrome ratchets in all three drive sizes (right now from snapon.com)

This may seem outrageous for 3 ratchets... I know the feeling, but give it a few months at GJ and you will likely be tasting the koolaid and selling those babies for fifty cents on the dollar:D

(/end sarcasm, attempted humor)

Are you looking to upgrade or were you just curious how these stacked up?

The ratchet head is essentially the same as the standard issue Craftsman units. Not great by any means but serviceable. My 3/8" RP Cman tackled many a job for me.

Those are the Danaher (armstrong) made ratchets. It's a ratchet that has been made under a variety of brand names (Napa, KD, Allen, Kolbalt, Craftsman, and others). It features the standard 36 tooth action with a quick release. Now, in today's world of 60 to 120 tooth ratchets , that 36 tooth action may seem primitive to some but, it still tightens and loosens fasteners just fine.:wtf:

Those ratchets represent a line of no frills tools that will get the job done without a huge investment or bling. I would say that billions of repairs have been successfully performed with Danaher made tools.

Typical danaher head design; as noted, same as the typical Craftsman ratchets. Historically, they have not been a particularly durable design; the ratchet mechanism, has disappointed many over the years. With SO many other better designs available; I would look elsewhere! I would look at the USA Williams or the new Gearwrench ratchets; or treat yourself to some new or used Snap-on! :)
