Ratching open end wrench?

Is there such a thing? I have several sets on box wrenches that ratchet but an open end set if they exist would be nice.
Anyone make a set?

I tried searching & all I got was box wrenches.

I had a 9/16 Craftsman ratcheting open end wrench and I hated it. You cant use it like a regular wrench, you must ratchet it and hold it firmly to the bolt your loosening.

Gimmick tool.

I have both the SAE and metric set of these on my work cart, they're Chicago branded, bought them from the Cornwell guy. AFAIK none of the tool truck brands have their own ratcheting open end. The ones I have actually grab pretty damn well, only time I have them slip is in situations where I really ought not be using them, and pulling pretty hard.

I've got a Snap-On that's 9/16 - 1/2" that is a 'ratcheting' open end. It looks normal, but one side is shorter than the other. The short side grips, the long side doesn't, so it acts like a ratchet.

I have a set and never use them. I guess if you were constantly working in tight spots then maybe they would be useful.

Their not goood for breaking a nut / bolt loose. your more likely to break your knuckle then the nut/bolt loose. Once I have it broke loose 75% of what I work on can the be removed by hand from their. Maybe your workload is different, guess that's why I am over sharing. I thought they would be great, but not so much.

I won a set at a safety meeting at work, both ends are open. They are in the box but I have never tried them. To tell the truth I forgot about them until I read this post.

I have a set of these. Don't use them much unless it's in a very cramped spot and I'm holding the wrench with my finger tips, then I'm glad to have them.

I have a Bosch adjustable ratcheting open end wrench.

It's kindof stupid.

I needed them for working under the dash of my 32 roadster. Picture 4 studs (allens actually) threaded into the back of a gauge insert & then have 4 lock washers & 1/2" nuts w/ brackets to fasten to back of 32 dash. Think U bracket for a gauge. Very similar but bigger. The studs are as short as possible but are about 1/16" away from my Kugel 90 degree brake/booster when all tightened up. Doesn't leave enough room to slip the nuts out or get either a box wrench or socket. Open end laying on your back- finding the nuts by feel, loosen enough to pull the insert forward to drop the nuts. PITA.
A ratching open end would be perfect. This all has to come apart again when my turn signal switch comes in so I'm looking to simplify the R&R.

I was surprised to find those on a 2nd search.
So, the Chicago brand a decent set? We aren't talking torque wrench tight here guys. Just a pita to access & keep finding the flats of nut blind.
I was smart enough to toss the nyloks in the trash. Nothing like fighting every thread!

I bought a set of the Craftsman for my SIL, an auto tech, to let him experiment. I often buy him tools to try out, if he likes them maybe I will buy a set for me.

Anyhow, he says they have their occasional use, but if he needed room in his box these would be the first things to go.

The closest to a ratcheting open end, that has hit the market, that I would even look at, would be the Wera Jokers. As far as I can tell, they don't even have a full line.

Only problem with those is you have to raise them up above the nut to ratchet. Still looks like a cool too to have.

That company ratchetech just launch their new design. They offer a 7 piece set in metric and standard. Youtube them. They put up a couple of video that members of GJ on testing the tool.

I have the metric and standard sets,The only way they work right is if you can get square with the bolt.They were a bday present so at least i was not out any money.
