Ok here's the story, I used the home depot type epoxy on my garage floor about 6 years ago. It has worn of in the center area where the car sits. It's to big of a area to try & just redo that section. The epoxy isn't flaking of it's just wore out. Now the ?, can I just power wash the floor down & use the same type epoxy over it again? I'm not looking to strip the whole floor down & spend a fortune on it. I not expecting it to look like a museum. I know that you get what you pay for! The existing epoxy does have the flakes in it. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Matt Murphy

You should clean the area free of any soils and then scuf sand the existing coating. Use a rough paper like 60 grit. This will roughen up the surface and create a "profile" for the new coating to mechanically bond to. Any areas that are bare concrete should be treated like a new application. The flakes will be mostly removed, so re-flake it when you apply the new coating.
