Had a phone get stolen from me a while back, finally figured out my password here (guilty of not saving it anywhere)
Real glad to be here again and not have to start from scratch.
For the record,
•I'm Bear (yes it's my actual name I'm an indigenous person)
•Southeast Michigan (Specifically Genesee county area)
•Speak a few languages, read constantly, work nonstop.
•Worked the trades (various electrical/plumbing/machinist trades) in remote or rural areas all my life. I fell in love with the need to "make do" fix your own tools, and problem solve creatively in that context.
•Now I restore tools to function before form (Also including form, just prioritize function)
•My hobbies include, Machining, Some blacksmithing, Finish carpentry, Research, Learning period (Specifically 1800s) repair/Tool craft methods, and (weirdly passionate about) hand cutting obsolete hardware.
•I collect, buy, donate, and sell vintage and antique tools. Never sneaky about it. When I want to do any of the above, I'm honest, Make good offers, and shoot for middle of the road. I don't gouge. I also do in person appraisal work, so I won't be gouged.
That's me in a nutshell I suppose. Again, really excited to be back.
Just for the fun of it. Here's some displays I built for a farmers market stall I did for a couple weeks, and a few things I've done a decent job with over the past few months.
