so i have a 50' automatic air hose reel and i want to swap to a 100' hose. Does anyone know if this is possible or if the spring inside needs to be swapped? Obviously it has to make more turns to wind up the extra footage but i wasent sure if there was a hack to make this work.

I thinks it's more about spring capacity than drum capacity, there's extra space and thinner hose is available. No need to go into CFMs/length/diameter, the question is more basic than that and who knows the CFM requirement.

Though it might work at something like 70', it would probably wear the spring out pretty fast.
