OK, I've got 26 attachments I've uploaded to the board since I've been on here. I can go to my control panel and select the attachments and see the list of them, links, etc.

Here's the question. Six months or a year later I'm making a new post in a new thread and want to re-post/display an already existing, already uploaded attachment. How do I do it?????????

I select the paperclip or "manage attachments" and the pop up box appears that allows me to upload a new attachment from either my computer or from the WEB but no allowance for picking one from my existing attachment list.

Vbulletin is not very friendly when it comes to reusing pictures. I've tried in the past to use the actual web address of old pictures on here and they wouldn't show up that way either.

Maybe Ryan knows a better way...

Frustrating and wastful of the server storage space. We'll see if Ryan has any suggestions. Wonder why they even bother to list the pics you have uploaded if you cannot reuse them.

Best I could do was copy paste individual urls (from the manage attachments) and paste them into the new post and let folks click on them to open the pic in a new window.

Someone told me that you have to rename the pic. or change the size. I have not tried to do it.

I moderate another site that uses this same software, but a more recent version. To date, they have not addressed this problem of re use of attachments. The only way around it that I know of is to resize the picture and to also rename the picture. If you only rename the picture, the software still recogonizes it as the same picture. I have no idea as to what mechanisms are used, but it is harder to figure out how it knows, than it is to just make the changes. I have learned that the more that I know about this particular software, the less that I know about it. We are running Version 3.6.3
