Only a 60 amp feeder on 6 gauge THWN between main and sub, then a 100 amp main breaker (disconnect) in the sub. I have LOTS of convenience outlets.

And service entrance conductors(what I think youre calling power transmission) are sized on a different table AND they have higher ampacity ratings than branch circuit ratings! But a feeder to a garage IS NOT a service entrance conductor!The subpanel passed a year ago but with only a few circuits. It is a 4 wire feed from the main panel in the house. 60 amp breaker at the main panel. Same as the 60 amp breaker that feeds my hot tub with 6 gauge.
Not sure about the "power transmission" difference but the regular chart says 6 guage NM is good for 55 but you can round up to 60 so that's what I did and the inspector allowed it.
The white wire is there but is hard to see since it is so small. The more circuits I add, the smaller that the 6 gauge looks!

U didnt use Romex for your feeder, u used THWN so im not sure why u brought up Romex. Anyhow, yes, #6 Romex does have an ampacity of 55a(60c deg column). THWN has a 65a ampacity because it would be sized on the 75c deg column! So i wouldnt worry about the feeder!

Well, yes, I did. What you can't see is that between the subpanel and the main panel I have a junction box at the house in the house garage where I used to have a welder plug fed by 6/3 romex. At that junction box I switched to conduit and thwn for the outside part of the run. So I treated the whole run as romex nm with the lower 60 amp limit. All inspected of course.
