Ok, after a month of painting the garage (lost a bet with my wife) and re-organizing, I am ready to Epoxy the floor. I have done extensive research (via this forum) about the numerous products and decided on Devoe Devran 224HS and Devthane 379UVA. I get all my painting needs from ICI, my son-in-law is a contractor.

Here's what I've done to the floor so far.

1. Scraped any loose materials off the floor.
2. Patched all cracks, which were minor ones, and any serious gouges with
MACs Latex Cement patch. After 3 days I sanded all the patching.
3. Vacumed, and washed the floor with detergent and rinsed 3 times.
4. Etched the floor with SEAL KRETE Concrete Clean-N-Etch and rinsed 3
times again. I did the etching yesterday 7/31/09. I plan to wait at least
3 days before starting the first base coat.

I will appreciate comments from you experienced floor finishers; I need to get that warm-fuzzy feeling before I start Epoxying.

I am going to apply flakes, so I made a pair of spikes using OSB and drywall screws. Got the idea from this forum. I'll publish pics when the job is done.

Bigstuie, looks like you are ready to go. Prep was 95% of the effort for my application. I mainly used a shotblaster to prep the concrete, since I had paint on the floor.

As mentioned in another post, buy some smaller containers so you can mis smaller batches for the edges.
Use a drill with a mixing wand to mix larger batches and have a few paint sticks around in case.
I worked the edges first, and then a friend poured and I squeeged, he then rolled and we added flakes. We did 3 X 10 foot sections at a time since you have to be able to throw the flake around.
I also purchased extra flake, for a 3 car garage I uses 4 1 lb pound bags.
I aslo added aluminum oxide for extra traction. My garage is attached to the house and I have to boys that I know will spill stuff an rund all over the place so I opted for the traction.

I love my results and can not imagine the garage w/o epoxy now. You can see my pic in the EpoxyMaster post.

Good luck!

I used EpoxyMaster and loved the results. I used a respirator and goolgles when I prepped the floor. Since I was sanding and blasting the concrete, I had a lot of concrete dust and particle flying around. I had a shop vac going to entire and pretty good cross vetilation as well.
