Isn't the sound part of the point? I sure don't want to hear uncle Beau's *** cheeks clapping.

Not sure what is going on with Panasonic they appear to be rolling out a new series of fans. The ones that I sourced ~7 years ago and would recommend are NLA and doesn't seem like replacements are on the way? It could be a supply chain issue that is causing this. I got a NIB version from ebay for a bath I'm renovating, approx $35 premium over what they used to cost, about 2 months ago.

The product is fantastic. They also have a heater/fan and a night-light option for a purposefully dim light in case you need to use the restroom at night and don't want to be blinded by 6500K LEDs surrounding the main mirror.

Fantech makes a nice in-line fan that is super quiet if you can fit it into your attic away from the bathroom and have it exit thru a sidewall or soffit.

I don't know the brand name on mine but this is what I have. Quiet enough and moves air. Mine is mounted in the basement and vents through the rim joist.

I have a inline Fantech 270-2 in our Master Bath and I cannot hear it to save my life. I installed fan so that it was supported by nylon webbing from the trusses. I have one vent over the toilet and one over the shower. I have zero moisture build up after a hot shower. I had to install a timer because no one would remember to turn it off.

I bought a Panasonic fan for my bathroom remodel a year or so later when it finally happened, discovered it would not fit in the available space as it was too tall, bought a Broan fan, (NuTone is part of Broan) to go in it's spot it's very quiet also added a humidistat to control the fan. The fan is mostly used to remove excess moisture if the air is ripe there is spray to mask any odor. It was galling that the Panasonic that was unusable was $65, the Broan was $125 + taxes.

Seems like any of the cheap marijuana grow type duct fans would work just fine. Mount it in the attic, hang it like the growers do...**** the farts out in silence.

I installed a Panasonic vent, heater, light, & night light combination fan. It's quiet and, I would buy another Panasonic.

Bought 2 at Costco when I moved in, great price and work great but they are the "turn on automatically" with humidity sensor types or flick the switch twice to turn on but you would have to time it perfectly to turn on.

I think they have the same fans without the humidity sensor now and would buy again, minus automatic sensor thing, because they just work great and are very quiet. Also come with a light.

I work as a subcontractor and put in bath fans for home weatherization programs and healthy home programs. Most of the fans I put in run continuously so they had to be quiet. They used a motion or moisture sensors to kick up to high speed. We found that 80qfm or larger needed 6" flexible duct to a roof vent to be quiet, or hard piped in 4" duct. Most of the models we put in were commercial Panasonic or Broan. For a small bath in my house I just picked up a Broan from Menards that is only 50qmf that is 4" duct but is .5 sones. It will be operated through the existing light switch and ran in 4" flexible duct to a roof vent. It may be harder to find fans with 6" adapters available at the consumer stores, but it really makes a difference in operation sound.

I have a Panasonic and love it. I believe it's an 8 inch. Just have to clean it once in awhile and now it's whisper quiet again. It's a wall unit.

I have delta breeze in both of my bathrooms. The louder one is 0.5 sones. The quieter one can't even be heard when you are in the shower, standing below it
