My grandfather had these really old rusted files that I soaked in an acid bath to remove the rust. Anyone know anything about Graybros files? Just curious and Google didn't bring up anything

A Google search shows one article around the early part of the 20th Century where it says, "Gray Bros, Blacksmithing tools." So perhaps used to form handles for implements, or as a Farrier to work horse hooves for shoes.

Thanks for the info, I didn't even know what a rasp was. He didn't have any horses so I guess it was part of a set like harbor freight for filing wood.

Edit, actually it was probably for sharpening garden tools he had quite a few trees

Ols rasps have an uneven tooth structure.
This is much better than the modern ones that tend to stay in the same ruts and give a very uneven surface.
Bacho still makes a few tools in Sweden, rasps being one kind.
Well made, good quality steel, very sharp. Flat, half round and round.
Great for shaping guitar necks.
But unfortunately the tooth pattern is very even. You have to rasp at different angle at every stroke.
