Well, I've never seen these before today so I thought I'd post them up for your viewing (and possibly buying) pleasure. Here are two "Wards Master" ratchets, 3/8 dr 84-4767 and a 1/4 dr 84-4758. They have a unique Wards logo I've not seen before. It's a M on top with a W on the bottom seperated by a lightning bolt. Must pre-date the Wards Powr-Kraft logo. Enjoy!

Neat piece of history there - thanks for posting. This is the first time I've ever seen that style. The 1/4 " has almost no rust!

WOW

My father has a set of Powr Kraft Tools that he ordered from Montgomery Wards during the 70's.

The ratchets lasted about 12 years and we broke some sockets.

Although they were lifetime warranty, Wards could not replace because they were out of the tool business.

Now and then when I am at my dad's place I'll see the Power Kraft tools and remember my youth and tools were made in america and sold in an American store.

Sad to see a popular american business go under:(

Sweet ratchets! I'd sure like to own the 1/4 " if it hasn't been spoken for already.

Yep, the larger one looks just like an Industro Super I have with a sealed head. Let me know if you want I will take a picture tomorrow night and post it for you.

Received the 3/8" ratchet today in the mail.
Great packing! Thanks!

I think I've seen it in the board before but does anyone have a link to instructions for opening and rebuilding these Indestro-style ratchets?

Thanks!

That looks a lot like the Wizard piece I have thats marked Western Auto... pretty slick. I'm guessing similar time frame (though yours is probably older having the square handle?) Also guessing yours must've been a Wizard produced piece?

Good luck. Not going to happen as those are crimped closed, as in permanently sealed. :willy_nil

You'll have to cut it open. Which isn't that big of a deal. It's getting it sealed back up that's the problem.

Elroy is right about this. If the ratchet is just full of crud, you can soak it in the solvent of your choice and then use the oil hole provided on the ratchet head to lubricate it. That's what I did and mine works like new.

Nice, I have a very similar Wizard model. Built like a tank.
