There's a NOS 450SJ that has been on marketplace near me for a really long time. How rare is that one? Owner is asking $1,495. I have no interest, but it looks like a neat vise.

If it’s really nos with a tag or box not just in good shape it very rare. Figure the are possible only a few hundred out there for the 450sj vs 10000’s of standard bullets

My FIL has the 6" Wiltomatic. Not sure how it compares to the 4" for rarity but it is a beast.

Also an extremely rare one. The wiltomatics are regardless of size are extremely hard to come by. I am not sure how many of each remain but have seem broken ones sell for $700 alone.

It doesn’t look to have a box or tag, but seller is advising as new/never used. Hard to say for sure, I guess, but it does look nice.

More than a few fellows take an old vise, strip it, repaint, fit new jaws and then sell the vise. Hopefully they don’t then call it new old stock and never used. But if one of those vises is then passed on, a subsequent owner or relative doing a shop clean out might not be able to tell the difference. In my opinion, a true original in as new condition is worth the most.

Those of us who have been around vises for a while can tell but I bet many folk can’t,
Stickers tags and decals. If they don’t have at least one of those definitely not new old stock. I know people reproduce them now but you can the difference. I had a nos toddler with the tag and box and have had hundreds of vises the difference is obvious to those of us who know
