Getting started
10" sch 40 OD
6" sch 40 ID
1 in 40 pitch
Blind flange center for the base.
I'll cut the top and bottom plates from 3/16" or 1/4" plate

How did you layout your cuts in the pipe?

I marked quarters on the circumferance pipe, then marked out 1/4 quarter of the pitch at each 1/4 point, then connected the dots with a wraparound.
I hope that makes sense.

That looks cool. Any plans for what it will hold? If it was mine, I'd think about putting my Beverly shear on it or something else fairly non standard.

Pun intended? :lol_hitti

Even if you screwed up on it, people would just think it was part of the design.....or does it screw down?

Cool project

I wish I was more creative like that.

Thanks CGT,
Funny you mentioned screwing up or down, because I cut the top and bottom flights today and formed the top one backwards.
The dumbest part was I was right in front of it.
I really need to watch me closer.

Come now Nasty,
You ask that question like I am a responsible man.
When in reality, I'm like a child that does what is fun not what they should!!!
Thanks much

Thanks dr,
I have not locked in what will mount on this, wish I had a beverly shear, that would be sharp looking, on this stand.

It's not just the creativity of all of your projects, but the fit and finish is so good too.

Thank you Sir,
After forming the flight backwards, then straightening and reforming, I got it fit up and tacked off.
I was not sure it would fit for awhile, but finally whipped it into submission.

They must give away welding supplies in Ak. Your builds and your imagination are second to none. Keep up the great fab jobs with pics.

Formed, fit and welded the bottom flight today.
Also got it dressed and welded to the base.
I set a round top plate on it to check it out, have not welded it yet.
Now thinking about paint color.
Thanks to all for the compliments.

Headed to town this morning to fulfill some obligations, ran into freezing rain and had to come home.
So, I slopped some primer on.
Thanks all

Thanks all

Pelican, spiffy nifty is a new high mark, but I got to say I'm crushed that Mom lied to me about being a special snowflake.

Anyhow, I found a old can of gloss grey enamel and was not sure the gold pinstripe paint I have would work with it so I made a test panel.
It looks good to my eye.
Now need to wait for the enamel to dry.
