rebar calculation??

any fast way calculate total linear feet of rebar for a slab floor w/fatoring in overlap? Eng says i need 10mm(3/8) bar 18" squares, local yard here carry's 20 footers. inside dimensions of the floor are 39x47 (40x48 o/s sitting on grade beam). Thanks guys !

I am also an engineer. Your data is correct for many states but I would work with your local concrete supply and they will assist with any needs including materials qty's. Better than assist if they are over on estimate no restock 20% charge for you and if they are short they normally deliver and cover. Many local codes require bar lap over so you will have to know that. There are so many other factors to consider such as what is the slab used for, thickness of slab, type of crete used, etc. All of those items can be discussed with concrete supply and they can assist in best choice for your wallet. Sometime fence over rebar or reinforced over other factors.
