Rebranded line wrenches?

I've searched but can't find the answer. I know Dahner owns matco so a lot of matco tools are similar or identical to others but what about their flare wrenches? Are the older USA stamped matco line wrenches rebranded?

It wouldn't surprise me if they were Armstrong, but searching for sets doesn't lead to any match ups. Hopefully someone else has more info.

Not anymore. Cooper and Danaher sold their Apex Tool Group joint-venture to Bain Capital in 2012.

could be why everything apex had contracts to produce has gone to **** and moved to china the productoin... ie craftsman for one. Apex tool group site is still up

Yes, it's still called Apex; it's just that the Apex Tool Group and the brands within the group are no longer owned by Cooper and Danaher.

Matco was never part of the Apex joint-venture and is still owned by Danaher.

Perhaps, but then the question becomes, does Apex still have the contracts, or did the buyers (i.e. Sears and others) take their contracts to someone else with the production being in China?

Matco still has contracts to re-brand plenty of Apex tools. Armstrong ratchets being a major one, as well as plenty of Craftsman, Gearwrench/KD, etc.

Bonney made wrenches for them....probably also made their tubing wrenches as well.

I looked at bonney but but they did t look the same to me. Maybe a revised model of some bonney wrenches?

I do believe bob15's correct. I've seen enough wrenches to say the older more flat Matco line wrenches look Bonney made.
