Rebuilding a Firepit

We bought a propane firepit about 6 years ago and converted to NG. The burner ring has rusted though.

Has anyone built a burner tube? I was thinking of getting copper and bending it in a circle and attach the old orfice to it.

Another thought was looking for a discarded hot water tank and steeling the burner from that.

I'm only pushing the gas through a 1/2" pipe and not looking for an infernal.

wouldn't it be easier to just buy a stainless ring for replacement not sure what you are refeing to.... if it is decorative rings... they have them for sale. just search "round stainless steel fire pit ring"

If this is for cooking, just go to the restaurant supply store, they have a lot of cast iron / cast steel rings for selections and even nozzles....
