I have a Lincoln 93277T 5 ton bottle jack I am rebuilding.
The rebuild went well and everything works. The problem is I cannot get the tank to seal to the base. The first 3 or 4 days after assembly is fine and then it starts leaking where the tank joins the base.
I am on my 5th disassembly of the jack and starting over.
After disassembly and reassembly the jack will be leaking within a day.
When tightening the gland nut I am using a 6 foot piece of pipe on a 3 foot pipe wrench. I had a tool built to fit into the slots of the gland nut and the wrench is used to turn the tool.
After removing and reinstalling the gland nut several times the slots are starting to widen at the outer end.
I have read several posts to learn what I might need to do.
At this point I have run out of ideas and have no photos.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
