Rebuilding a ratcheting wrench. Possible?

I bought a Matco 10mm wrench at a yard sale today. One end is a ratcheting style end and, unfortunately, it doesn't ratchet.

Is it possible to service these wrenches, or should I just write it off as a learning experience?

I was going to try some ATF when I get home today. I really was just wondering if these were even serviceable. It seems like you would have to destroy the guts to get it apart...

I am not going to warranty it because I didn't buy it new. As I mentioned in my post, I bought it at a yard sale. I would be willing to pay a few bucks and get a rebuild kit if one were available. I am not going to put the local Matco guy out since I have never purchased anything from his truck.

I was hoping someone would have some insight on how to dismantle the wrench and replace the guts with new parts.

They're guaranteed for life, right? It doesn't work, send it back. Don't bother with your local guy just send it to Danaher.

Is it the old kind with the exposed gear? If so it's probably just dirty, clean it out and see what happens.

Thanks everyone! The ATF soak worked!

I took it home at lunch today and let it sit in an ounce of ATF. I worked the gear a few times and now it ratchets perfectly.
