Was considering buying some rebuild kits for a S/O and a Ridgid cordless drill.
Anyone ever do the rebuild on these? Turn out ok? Any pitfalls to be aware of?
It's a PIA but go for it if you have the time. You'll save about half over rebuilt.
Soldering on batteries can be tricky and unforgiving. For that reason order your batteries with solder tabs attached.
A hot melt glue gun helps attach the batteries to each other.
P.S. Sometimes it's cheaper to buy a premade replacement battery pack from HF with a coupon as your source of new cells. Just made sure the capacity matches.
