My trusty Robinair 15101B pump quit pulling a vacuum today and I'm not really sure where to start looking to fix it. I've been using it for nearly ten years and my dad was using it before I ever took it over so I have no idea if there is any support for it. The last few times I've used it a little bit of oil spit out of the handle when I cut it on, but after a few seconds it quits and has done its job fine. I chalked it up to an overfill up until today. I put it on the car and went to lunch, came back about 45min later and the pump was red hot to the touch and was no longer pulling a vacuum. Still filled to the line on the pump, so I know it wasn't running dry. I was planning on pulling it apart to see if anything was visibly wrong but don't even begin looking for trouble. Some quick googling didn't come up with much help, can anyone here shed some light??
If I absolutely have to I'll buy a new pump, I just hate to when I only use the darned thing a handful of times a year.
