So just curious if anyone has rebuilt or had ni cad batteries done. Thanks

There are a number of YouTube videos of guys doing it. I haven't done it myself yet, but plan to when needed. I would recommend to try it and start a thread to follow it. I would be interested to have it all documented for my own benefit, and I think you can save yourself some money.

I paid batteries plus to do it. Those multi-cell batteries really need to have the tabs to link the batteries together welded on using a machine.

Il say they rebuilt my old snap on ni-cad 18v with nimh cells, the batteries so far in 4 years have held up great.

We had the local Interstate Batteries store rebuild an old Milwaukee battery. Lasted about 2 months with light use..... had them "re do" the battery under warranty.... lasted about 2 months again.... bought new 18v Fuel impact. Problem solved. Lol

That's throwing good money after bad. I switched from Dewalt 18v nicad to Ridgid for the lithium batteries. Love the lower weight, smaller size and the battery gauge. The lifetime warranty is a plus too. :)

I didn't want to replace all of my tools, so I built an adapter for my Dewalt stuff. Still planning to build one for Ryobi to run the hedge trimmer I recently bought.
