The name is Nick - but my tag loya1ty is fine by me for forum talk. I've been to the site several times before reading up on mostly structural discussions, insulation practices, and just admiring some great builds here. I'm signed up on several other similar forums for other hobbies (Subaru/DIY/Home Improvement/Landscaping).
I'm a software eng. by profession and education, but grew up blue collar around trades and hands on hobbies, where much of my interests still lie.
I recently bought my first home back in March and have a lot of pride for this accomplishment and for my family. I'm looking forward to starting my reno thread here for the existing attached 2 car garage. Someday in the future I hope to build a detached shop at the end of my driveway. That will be a fun build thread for sure as I'm an idea-r person and very detailed oriented (to a fault sometimes).
I've decided to begin on the forum here as I've finally committed to what I want to do after flip flopping several times
. A lot of other projects on the list, so the garage will ultimately always get the back seat but I keep it organized and compartmentalized for the most part. Look for my kick off thread laying out my garage specs, priorities, current plans, and inquiry for your experienced ideas! Hoping to learn a lot more here, but also contributing back in the form of my progress! Cheers.
