Went to a live auction today and pictured are the tools I bought.Total amount paid was $27. The Stillson was $10, the two 14" were $5 each and the ratchet was $7. The ratchet came with other 'ordinary' tools.

Are these to be display items or working tools. If the former I think ya did great. If the latter well.... ;)

Well in that case I'd say you kicked *** on that deal. As you've probably already noticed ya got guys around here that'll ***** if you hung them with a new rope as well as guys that would have seriously bought those to make a buck. Fortunately the majority have good common sense and a decent attitude. :p

Well bought in my opinion. Had some fun for $27 and went home with some good display pieces ( though I'd be tempted to see if I could get that ratchet in good working order again)

The ratchet works perfectly well.A little lube and it's in my 'user' box.
LXCam: I understand about the bitchers, complainers, and the 'others'.

So correct. Getting there early has benefits. One thing that annoys me is how some items migrate from one box location to another. If it's an old farm auction, I try to get on site no less than 1 hour before start.

No doubt about that! I bought a complete pebble Plomb puller set at an outside auction, one of the first few items to sell. By the time I got back to it 2 of the arms were missing. "Migrate" is an understatement.

Edit: Nice buys!
