Recent Benddpack HD-9 Installs?

Moved and left my DirectLift at the old house. Looking to get set up in the new garage. I've got 10' ceilings, but a beam in the center drops down about 20", so I have that to contend with. Considering an HD-9, among others. Looking for recent experiences with BP and specifically the HD-9. Coming from a 12'+ ceiling, so this place is going to be a compromise.

This lift will be for service only, not storage.

Looks like there are no recent installs on GJ. Seems like Advantage/Wildfire style 4-post lifts are becoming the popular choice.

I don't have a 4-post, I have a two-post from BP. Great lift, very happy with it. I doubt you'd be unhappy with an HD-9 plenty of people here have them.

The thing that's going to really **** for you is trying to get one in any sort of fast time-frame.

That goes for probably most lifts btw.

The other thing to consider for a low-rise might be the MaxJax. For me, once I had a two-post lift I could never go back to something like a 4-post if I was using it for service work.

Has something changed at BP in the last 10 years that you can't go by older reviews?

Also, it sounds to me like you need to decide whether ANY 4-post lift will work for you with the 8.5' max height because of the beam. If you're not using it for storage, a 2-post is easier to get the car off its suspension.

I"ve had my HD-9 for 15yrs now , ceilings are 11.5 love it never had any issues with it , except for 1 hydraulic hose that leaked 2nd year in , no biggy , got one made local and it's been great since. Also have the rolling jack RJ-45, after all these year I had to get a new cylinder . If you are in Canada have a look at Babco sales in BC

My HD9 has been in for over 10 years. With the exception of a leaking air lock cylinder that's easily replaced, it's been good. I double park in the winter to get another vehicle in the garage.

I ordered my wildfire XL on 11/3. Received it 11/18. I was also looking at advantage lifts, those were in stock as well

Apparently, I didn't have notifications turned on for this thread — apologies for not responding sooner.

I considered a MaxJax. I drilled a test hole, and I have 4.5" of concrete at that spot, so ok, but not much room for any thickness variations. Not interested in cutting up the floor. Also, depending on the car, I can utilize the 10' height, lifting over 5'. This works on smaller cars when the "greenhouse" is not under the beam.

I don't know, haven't seen many recent reviews, it's why I asked the question. I have a sliding bridge jack from the last four-post I owned, an extra step but easy to lift an end of the car off the ramps. I recently moved, left the lift but took the jack.

Thanks for all the responses. Shooting to get something in January.

Check the dimensions between the runways on a Bendpak vs Directlift. Bendpak’s bridge jacks are on wheels that run in a channel welded to the side of the runways while I believe Directlift uses a sliding jack along the runway surface. Bendpak runways have a gritty surface so the sliding g jack may not work well or at all.

Bendpack recently changed to a smooth surface on the runways, and the sliding bridge jack is adjustable, so I should be fine there.

I need to check availability; some places are quoting and of March for an HD9. Rather not wait that long. Wildfire and Advantage are also in the running.

I have two Advantage four posters and a slightly older BendPAC 10k asym two post lift. The Bendpac has been ok, except the motor for the powerpack failed. That’s a generic purchased part probably shared by all resellers of imported lifts, though, so I don’t hold that against Bendpac.

Having said that, the overall fit and finish is far superior on the Advantage lifts.
