I recently had cause to order from several larger distributors who happened to have the best price on things I was looking for. My brother was involved and has always wanted to order from Harry J. Epstein's because they will apparently draw cats on the box. He's a cat guy... I know, gross. Anyway, it hasn't worked out yet although I'm sure we will order someday and I am slowly putting together plans for a pilgrimage when time allows. For now though we ordered from ToolUp.com, ToolsDelivered.com, ToolTopia.com, ToolBarn.com and MROTools.com. For each of these we requested that they please draw cats in the comments section of the order. Of them, only one complied with our request. MROTools went above and beyond. They appear to have passed the box around the office, several different artists are apparent, from simple stick cats, to the rather elaborate. Anyway, overall the experience from each was pleasant and straightforward, but MROTools extra effort means they get pictures of what we got, as well as the cats.

I've often wondered if anyone pays attention to the comments section of the order forms. So how do you like those Lang snap ring pliers? I've got the same set on my Amazon wish list.

I always ask for some sort of picture on or in a box, the ones that do get my repeat business. It just shows who is willing to go above and beyond for their customers.

The snap ring set is part number 3495 and lists from them for $81.07 which seems like a great deal. Initial impressions were good, although since we just got them I can't say much for quality just yet. I have examples of several different brands including snap on and blue point and they aren't quite like any of them. I know lots of Lang products are rebranded for bigger brands. I love the wide grips on them, they seem more substantial in your hand.

With or without box art, HJE has never disappointed me.

Besides, if you look at the picture to the left, that little guy is now 90+ pounds and isn't a cat fan

He will love them with a little soy sauce and duck sauce B-) Same for rabbit orreally most any other small mammal that runs when chased B-)

I work for an online retailer that is probably the same size as many of these customers. Almost everyone at the compay reads all of the customer comments. Our customer service and wearhouse teams see them as they come in and react as appropriate. The rest of us get a list emailed to us with all of the comments each morning. Let companies know what you like and don't like. Smaller places are listening. Also, if someone helps you or does a good job, be sure to call that out. Their boss will see the comment.

I like people that put in funnny things the most. When I order online I now try to make whoever reads it laugh.

I used to draw on envelopes.

I would put a sun up in the corner, and a sea with ships, and birds in the sky.

Sometimes "Kilroy Was Here" would go on the back.

All in color.

Is there any reason for this? I don't understand what you're trying to accomplish.

This started (probably not originally, but for me) years ago on a Subaru forum as an off topic thread and contest of sorts-who could get the most unique picture sent with their order. All of the vendors there had great fun with it. I figure it breaks up the monotony of their employee's days. I know I would appreciate something like that at work occasionally.
