Getting ready to start running electric outlets in my pole barn soon. Was planning on running romex in conduit and quad outlet box every ten feet. My shop is a 30x34. Searched online for images of different ideas on what looks best, couldn't find anything. Could you guys post how your outlets are run in your pipe barns. Just wanting to get ideas thabks

I ran romex, in the wall, with two outlet recepticals every six feet. They look just like two outlet recepticals set in the wall... :)

If you are installing "pipe".... EMT conduit, why bother with Romex™. It is extremely difficult to pull in conduit (though legal) and can easily cause you issues with regard to conduit fill calculations. Buy spools of THHN 12 gauge, Black, White, Green and pull that.

You will regret ever having thought of pulling the Romex™ no matter how much pull lube you use.

i like to put my outlets about waist high. i don't like to bend down to plug in. i would look at having an outlet at least every 12 ft or so

I would put outlets closer than 10' , put one everywhere you plan to have something stationary and you can never have enough outlets around the walls, everyone hates to pull extension cords around

Just food for thought, but you might want to think about adding a couple of receptacles higher than the run to install a couple of retractable cord reels.

In hindsight I would've put more receptacles, even in my smaller 24'x24'. It's nice to not have to use extension cords (which I still do). I'd like to have one every 6-7' or so really.

I have mine in conduit on the surface and have moved a couple of them as equipment or cabinetry dictate. One receptacle for a grinder and task light, maybe a drill press next to it and you have a problem with not enough receptacles. Soooo put in lots. Not romex in the conduit, as stated " THHN 12 gauge, Black, White, Green and pull that." maybe even red. I did some with 2 receptacles (to plug in 4 cords) in a box on 2 breakers (handles tied, or 1 double pole) for a couple of things that could run at the same time.
