Recessed Garage Lighting

I plan on putting standard LED cans in the new garage around the perimeter but for task lighting I want to install a few recessed LED shop lights. Please don't show me $500 lights LOL I am trying to do this as inexpensively as possible.

Suggestions? Comments? Lude remarks?

Whats your ceiling height? The biggest problem with recessed lights is they create really bad shadows unless you have pretty tall ceilings, or you install them every 3 feet.

What type of ceiling do you have, or are going to have? Drywall? How much room above the lights do you have to play with?

Do you really need recessed lights? A basic 4' T8 2 bulb fixture only sticks out like 2 inches if you flush mount it to the ceiling.
