In the process of building a 24x50 pole building. My plan is to put a wall put and create 2 seperate rooms. One room in particular will be turned into a game room/manroom. This room will be 24x27. I have toyed with the idea of having recessed lights in this room. I have them throughout my house and really like them. Approximatley how many recessed lights will a room like this require ?

I'm using 6" recessed cans as the primary lighting in my garage. I really like them vs 4' tubes.....a 'little' more work to wire since it takes at least 2 cans to = one 4' 2-tube fixture....or more depending on the wattage of light you use....
I have 24 cans in the lower portion of my 20'x25' garage....
This is a pic of the lighting level....no flash....and please excuse the mess....still under construction....I'm trying to finish the second level so we can move off o the wife's junk, I mean stuff...I mean 'projects' up there.....

Looks Great! what size bulbs are in the recessed lights and do they get hot? I have been using the (6) 8ft HO 2 bulb Flouresent lights for a 3 car garage and want to switch to recessed lighting. How many of these fixtures would I need in your opinion to match the brightness of the 8 footers. Thanks for the info.

I paid about $6 per fixture....but note that they do not have trims yet....that could run $10 or more per fixture depending on what I decide on.
Also note that there could be an issue with building codes....depending on your area, you might be required to use pin style recesed fixtures (built in ballest)....reason...so that it's impossible to use incandescent bulbs.....
Right now I'm using 120 equiv bulbs...about 20W actual power....
There are a lot of variables regarding light output...who makes the light, the color freq...etc....but for the most part you can assume that 3-4 cans like I have using 20w CFL's is = to one 4' 2-bulb fixture....so you can assume you would need about 6-8 cans to = one 8' 2-bulb fixture....
One of the reasons I'm using cans is that I don't have the room to fit a recessed 4' fixture.....I do a lot of wood working....hence, I don't want anything hanging down....
