Currently we have a rocker switch on the side of our kitchen cabinet island. It keeps getting bumped on and off. I want to recess it in. I would be happy with a typical toggle switch if it was recessed. I keep thinking of the old recessed outlet they used to put on kitchen soffits to power a wall clock. If I could simply take out the 110 outlet and replace it with a toggle switch I would be happy but I have not been able to find one that I could attach a switch to. Any ideas?

Assuming the recessed outlet mounts a standard double receptacle, how about a switch like this one:

There are also combination switch and receptacle units like this.

Why not use a Decora® style switch? Any site built creations will be unlisted & untested.

Clock outlets are single outlet devices, and are a one piece thing as far as I recall. There are "guarded switch" plates for standard toggle switches that have "ears" that stick out on each side of the toggle to prevent accidental operation.

You can get switch covers that keep the switch from being bumped on and off. Look for. "Light Switch Guard".

I'm not aware of any recessed light switches, but you could replace it with a Decora style switch - they are basically flush.
